TO THE POOR: Poverty Affects Everyone!

Through-out DuPage County there are families that struggle economically.  The challenges they face everyday relate to affordable housing, food, health care, cost of health insurance, child care, emergency needs, educational needs, and social services and judicial sytems.

The needs of the poor are everyone's responsibility.  The Church has a responsibility to demonstrate LOVE and COMPASSION for the needs of those "less fortunate" and needy.  The Community is affected by the needs of the poor.  In essence, everyone "pays" when there is poverty.  Agencies provide programs and services that cost.  Many people and organizations "reach out" and provide charitable worth to help.  Social services and Court Services are over-whelmed by the need.  Social Service workers and the general public struggle with "compassion fatique" because of the overload of need.

We welcome Churches and Agencies to work together to meet these needs.  LOVE Christian Clearinghouse is a non-denominational organization that works to bring faith-based groups together with County services in order to provide services for those that fall within the gaps of services without duplicating existing services.

This section is devoted to providing resources, research and network information for Churches and Agencies working together to provide services and programs that assist low-income families.
